Using Pinterest to Advocate Awareness

If you only know me from my work as a virtual assistant, writer, and web designer, you may not know that I am also the mother of four children–two of them with congenital heart defects.  As you can imagine, that gives me a vested interest in bringing awareness to the devastating effects of CHDs, as well as very strong feelings about making sure that all children have the resources for fantastic medical care.

February 7-14 2012 has been designated Congenital Heart Defects Awareness Week.  I’ve been joined by two other heart moms and bloggers to found a Pinterest board in honor of those who have CHDs.  Please join me in showing support for CHD awareness and research by visiting our board, The Faces of CHD, and repinning the stories you find there that touch you.

If you’d like more information about putting your own child’s face on our board, or about my own experiences with CHDs, please visit my family blog, A Trip to Holland.

  1. These are just a few of the children (and adults) affected by Congenital Heart Defects, the #1 Birth Defect. Please show your support for them by repinning their stories. Your pins will create awareness–and hopefully additional funding, resources, and research–for Congenital Heart Defects. We hope to include as many faces as we can on this board. Please visit to find out how to add a face.
